Haint Blue. Western style.
Imagine my surprise to learn that Haint Blue exists in the western United States. It does. Especially around Santa Fe, NM. And this is what it looks like. Beautiful.
Labor All Your Days
Excuse me, whose pillow is that?
A-bomb? Nope. Salt. Just as dangerous.

I only obeyed my mom, who, when I told her about discovering this interesting little piece of the Lord's work, promptly told me to go dump salt on it. "They ruin my yard." So, I did and was more than horrified at the result...I mean, gobs of green snot?! Disgusting. Yet, so neat. You should also know I poked at it with a stick, too. Once a kid, always a kid.

The Great Green Bean Mystery...Solved
Our lovely garden is growing like crazy. However, I've noticed that one of our green bean plants seems to be growing a great deal faster than the others. Chalking it up to one of the great mysteries in life, I merrily went on my way. Last night while grilling dinner, I discovered a possible reason for its incredible growth. More water than the others, you ask? More sun? Miracle grow? Nope. I busted Tucker with his leg high in the air whizzing all over that particular plant. Not so sure I want to eat the fruits of our labors now.

We've Adopted!
Meet TRU. She's our 1 year old Parsons Jack Russell that we were lucky enough to adopt from HART of Utah. What an amazing girl! She already knows how to sit, stay, come, lay down, heel, shake and she's the sweetest little girl in the world. We are so thankful to have her in our lives. She has brought a great deal of happiness to this house in the wake of the loss of our beloved Ruger. She'll never take his place, but she sure has brought a smile to our hearts. BTW, that is not a bubble vest, it's a very stylish harness. :)

Pioneer Day in Toquerville...GOOD TIMES!
Cam and I traveled over to mom and Dave's to stay Friday night. Kendrick and the girls were already there, so we had a really crammed, happy house. Got up early Saturday morning (6 NV time...who does that?!) and went to the parade. Mom, as the Relief Society President, was on a float and the girls were really excited to be on there with her. Except Cam. She's still saying "Mom, I was the only BIG girl on there." Truthfully, I think she had a blast but just won't admit it. After the parade we went to the park to have breakfast. Breakfast outside is always a good idea and it was really fun. The girls were busting me up. It was like trying to get a bunch of monkeys to sit still and eat, with silverware no less, while a truckload of bananas sat just ten feet away. Definitely a zoo, but so hilarious. Kendrick, the girls, Cam and I walked back to the house after that. The girls decided the sidewalks needed some decoration. Working on the sidewalks didn't last long as Ana started coloring her body and Ana was eating the chalk like it was a rare treat. I took them in, washed them up, and doubled over with laughter when I discovered large chunks of green chalk stuck in the gaps of Aubree's teeth. When asked how it tasted she replied with, "It was GOO-OO-OOD!" Eric, she is you all over. Saturday just continued to get better...we have finally adopted another Jack and I was supposed to meet her at 10:30. Waiting for the time to pass was torture! More on our new baby later. What a fantastic weekend!
