Wow! It's been a really long time since I've posted on here. Can I tell you we've been busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest? Crazy times here; but happy times. I'm feeling so melancholy tonight looking at my babies. They're just so big. Soon they'll leave me and I'll miss them terribly. What do mothers do when their babies are all grown?
We have finally made it to the season that the good Lord intented for people to enjoy...BASEBALL! It's been an interesting thing, so far, watching father coaching son (yep, Ryan made Varsity--Woohoo!!!). Today I sat through three games--in the car of course--and honked the horn like a maniac every time Ryan did something great. I had to quit after a while because I was worried about my battery dying. Yep. So far, the kid's awesome and I can't help but be pleased that somehow I am blessed to be this beautiful, talented, humble boy's mother.
Just last week we celebrated Chelsea's THIRTEENTH birthday. My adorable Tater is growing up and our relationship is very quickly changing. I can see how moms get really close to their girls. Chels has a crush on the neatest boy...I'm sworn to secrecy so I can't tell you who it is (she would just die). Softball season is rapidly approaching and the only thing she wanted for her birthday was a new glove, which we were super glad to give her. Crazy girl even baked her own cake; it was something of an interesting disaster. Quite frankly, it was the ugliest, most delectable cake ever made! Thanks for helping me blow my points, sister!
Cameron...how does one ever put a label on Cam or even describe her? I simply sum her up by telling people that Cameron lives life on her terms and no one will ever tell her differently. She's fabulous and the neatest ten year old in Panaca. We will be creating a play dough lynx for her school project this weekend. I'll try and post pictures. Cross your fingers that the darn thing turns out since her mother is artistically challenged. Madge has finally recovered from a very serious bout of pneumonia that kept her out of school for three weeks. I'm so thankful that the Lord answered my desperate pleas to make her well. What would we ever do without her?
Danny and I? Well, I've started a new fitness program that involves lifting weights, a medicine ball, and I swear five million lunges, pushups and situp-crunchie-things. It will be the death of me! Danny spends his free time laughing at me because I'm constantly trying to convince the kids to look at my new muscles (I can see them, but I'm not sure if the kids really can or they just agree because they know how desperately I want muscles.)Danny is consumed with coaching baseball right now. It's another building year, but I think he's enjoying it. We hardly see each other because he leaves for work at 7 a.m. I miss you, honey, call me sometime and we can schedule lunch. LOL We've been playing volleyball three times a week. Danny, Ryan, Chelsea and I have had a ton of fun trash talking each other, hitting it as hard as we can at one another, and laughing our rumps off when our trash talking backfires in our own faces. Poor Danny sprained his ankle pretty badly the other night, and, in true Danny form, let out a string of cuss words that would make my mother proud! Absolute silence in the gym, then some hushed giggles. You know what, Danny? I love you more and more because you are never ashamed to be who you are.
We had a really great visit from Eric and Kendrick last night. Their girls were killing me. Aubrey was climbing everything but the walls and I couldn't stop cracking up. Ally and Anna were thrilled to see me (if that's not really the case, they are friggin' great actresses and know the fastest way to their aunty's heart) and both gave huge, delicious hugs. I was sad to see everyone leave.
That's it. We're fiercely busy, but happier than ever just to have each other. These four people mean the world to me and I wouldn't have it any other way.
